Super Tunnel Mode

Super Tunnel Mode (STM) has been specially developed to offer zero configuration and optimum audio quality options.

Enabling STM mode on your system

To enable STM you need to upgrade IP Phone Center and upgrade PPG software to 8.13 (or later).

STM has two modes - ST1 and ST2

You can check which connection mode is available here.

STM 2 Zero configuration - simply plug and talk
STM 1 With ports 6666 (UDP) and 6667 (TCP) open - optimized audio quality

To enable STM mode all you need is to keep the internet connection type in default setting "Auto Detect" for both IP Phone center and Personal Phone Gateway.

Below is the sample for IP Phone center setting

To enable STM mode all you need is to set your Internet connection type to auto detect.

Click "Tools" and Options.

Click the drop down box next to Internet and select "Auto detect"

Note; Auto detect is the default setting and will only need changing if you have changed to another setting.

When you place a call and STM is enabled you will see "via SuperTunnel Mode (2)" displayed in the dialog box.

Further improve audio quality - enable STM 1 mode

If you open ports 6666 (UDP) and 6667 (TCP) on your router and FireWall, you will enjoy the best possible audio quality as IP Phone Center and your PPG will be able to use STM 1 mode.

When you place a call and STM 1 is enabled you will see "via SuperTunnel Mode (1)" displayed in the dialog box.
