Place calls using a third-party H.323 gateway/gatekeeper

The provider of the static gateway will give you an IP address to enter into Buddy List. Also If you are planning to place calls through a third-party H.323 gatekeeper there will be additional information including your h323id and your e164 phone number that the gatekeeper owner will provide to you. Please follow below instruction to enter the information.

Adding a Static gateway or gatekeeper to your Buddy List

You can easily add a new Static gateway or gatekeeper to your Buddy List by following the instructions below.

  •

Click on Tools

  •

Click on "Add a Static gateway"

In the "Call to a Static gateway" dialog box;

  •

Enter the name of the static gateway/gatekeeper.

  •

Enter the host name or IP address provided by the static gateway/gatekeeper's owner.

  •

For calls through a gatekeeper will need to enter the account name (h323id) and the phone number (e164) in the ANI box using the following format h323id%e164.

For example if the h323id = “CuPhone” and the e164 phone number = 4518460 then the ANI entry will be CuPhone%4518460.

Note; leave this box empty for gateway calls.

  •

If you need to add a prefix to all phone numbers placed through the gateway/gatekeeper - for example 9 then check the "Use prefix" box and enter the prefix.

  •

Click "Add" to add the static gateway entry to your Buddy List.
