With the
improvements in Internet bandwidth and VoIP technology, Internet
telephony is now toll voice quality. However, due to high setup
costs and the technical challenges of setting up an Internet long
distance calling service, user’s choices have been limited to the
“net phone” service providers and paying per minute call costs. With
the introduction of the PPG, anyone can easily install a phone
service that they personally own and eliminate per minute call
charges.
First
generation long distance was provided by the high cost long distance
telecommunication companies. With the advent of the Internet, second
generation long distance was provided by “net phone” service
companies at lower cost. Now CuPhone is providing the third
generation of long distance calling service that enables users to
easily implement their own long distance service for free using the
same VoIP technology as used by the expensive telecommunication
companies.
The
CuPhone PPG features include; full support of Windows XP, 2000, ME,
SE and 98, support of both static and dynamic IP addressing,
implementation of advanced Internet protocols developed by CuPhone
to support calls placed from PCs behind Firewalls and routers. In
addition the PPG is fully compatible with all the worldwide phone
systems, has received FCC and CE approvals and is able to share a
regular or fax phone line.
Included
with the PPG is an easy setup wizard to set which area codes calls
can be placed to and the maximum duration of calls. Time, duration
and number called are logged for each call. There are optional
settings for user accounts and passwords. In addition calling can be
enabled or blocked for specific phone numbers.

CuPhone's
demo gateway is for CuPhone's customer evaluation purpose and
CuPhone may change the demo PPG setting in the future. CuPhone's
customer can make as many free calls as you want. Each call is
limited to 10 min.
If the
country (or the number) is not covered by our demo gateway or you like to remove
10min per call limit, You can install your own Personal Phone Gateway
(PPG) in the area you like to make call to, then you can make unlimited free long distance call anytime as long as
you want ( no monthly fee, no per minute fee forever)
