Skype Linux Support

Installation note:
Pre-installation: (
as root or administrator roles)
(1) Plug-in your TJNet USB device and complete the installation
(2) Login as root or administrator roles
(3) Grant access HID services to all users.
(a) Fedora Core 3
file: /etc/udev/permissions.d/xx -udev.permissions
add a line : hiddev*:root:root:0666
(b) Mandrake 10.1 (make sure dbus service installed)
file: /etc/udev/permissions.d/xx -udev.permissions
add a line : hiddev*:root:root:0666
(c) SuSe 9.2 (make sure dbus service installed)
chmod 666 /dev/usb/hiddev*
(4) Reboot your machine
Installation: ( as
root)
(1) Install Skype from http://www.skype.com/products/skype/linux/
(2) Install tjinit_skype

Post-installation:
(1) Logon Skype
(2) Run tjinit_skype
(3) Configure the correct Skype audio device [ /dev/dsp* ] which is
mapped to TJNet USB audio device.
(HINTS)
(a) Add SkypeID: echo123 in your Skype dialog.
(b) Change your Skype call device name :
"Tools"->"Options"->"Hand/Handset"->"Audio devices"->"Calls:"
(c) Try the "Possible TJNet audio device" listed in the tjinit_skype
dialog, try to call "echo123".
(d) If the incoming voice does not come from your TJNet audio device.
==> Try-and-error : change your Skype Audio and call "echo123" until
you hear remote voice from your TJNet's USB device.
Normal procedure:
(1) Logon Skype
(2) Run tjinit_skype, add your speed dial items, refer online keypad
manual (http://www.cuphone.com/skype/) , have funs !
Uninstallation: ( as root or administrator roles)
rpm -e tjinit_skype
For other Linux application ( not Skype)

Install it
with the command:
rpm –i tjinit-0.7-1.i86.rpm
After
installation, 3 files will be installed in:
/usr/bin/tjinit
/usr/share/doc/tjinit-0.7-1/README
/usr/share/icons/tjinit.png
Run it with
the command:
tjinit ( as a root)
OR
if you want to run tjinit as a different user,
For
Fedora Core 3 and Mandrake 10.1 (system running udev for USB HID
device):
add "hiddev*:root:root:666"
to your udev permissions file (ie /etc/udev/permissions.d/xx -udev.permissions)
For Suse9.2
(system not running udev for USB HID device):
change
the mode of /dev/usb/hiddev* with command
chmod 666 /dev/usb/hiddev*
Uninstall it
with the command:
rpm –e tjinit
Note:
This program is
a console mode application built on kernel 2.6. It is known work on
SuSE 9.2, Mandrake 10.1 and Fedora Core 3.
